Webphone Error - Permissions Error

If you are using Genius and you see the following messages in your webphone, you may have an issue with Genius getting permissions to your audio devices.

Here are possible messages you may see when we're having issues with your audio devices:

  • Not Allowed Error (NotAllowedError)
    • The microphone permission has been denied. Please see our browser configuration guidelines for more details on how to grant microphone permissions. Also, double-check your permissions for your microphone.
  • Not Readable Error (NotReadableError)
    • An error has prevented microphone access. This is usually caused by another application using your microphone or an antivirus software blocking access. Please ensure that your microphone is only connected to your computer and only being used by Genius. See our guide on Microphone Access for more help.
  • Security Error (SecurityError)
    • A browser security policy has prevented access to your microphone. Please see our browser configuration guidelines for more details on how to grant microphone permissions. You should also check with your IT or Support teams to make sure there are not security policies in place that would block access to your microphone or audio device.
  • Permissions Dismissed Error (PermissionDismissedError)
