Flow Builder FAQ
- Is there a limit on how many nodes my flow can have?
- Yes, please limit your flow to no more than 200 nodes. If you desire to have more than 200 nodes in a flow, please create additional flows and route to those as necessary (via External Number node + using the Flow's extension to route to that flow after the first flow).
- Is there a downside to having one flow forwarding into another flow
- Besides a very small (milliseconds) delay, the only downside of having a flow that forwards into another flow is if you are accessing metrics in call state and need to access it from the second flow. For example, if you gather input in flow 1 which later forwards to flow 2, you can use the information from the Gather Input in flow one while in flow 2, but it will not auto-fill. It would be best to copy-paste the metric from flow 1 into the correct node in flow 2 to use that information.
- Can I run a flow after a call completes?
- Can I run a flow for Outbound calls so it performs actions before/after the call?
-
Can I import our existing IVR's to flow
- No, this functionality is currently not available.
-
How many versions can a flow have -
- At most two, one live version that callers will experience and one draft version as you are preparing future changes
-
When editing a published flow, can I view the previous published version of the flow?
- Flows are always edited in the draft mode. You can click on the icon on the top right to view the previously published/live version of the flow for reference.
-
Can I view flow’s version history and revert it to a previous state?
- No, you cannot view or revert a flow to its previous version.
-
If I edit a live/published flow assigned to a number, will the existing flow break?
- When you edit a published flow, you’ll be working on a draft version of the flow.
- The number is associated with the published stable version of the flow. Hence, there won’t be any impact on the existing calls that are in progress associated with this flow.
-
What happens if I make changes to a published flow(Flow v1) assigned to numbers, and republish it (Flow v2) ?
- Once republished, all the numbers associated with the flow(Flow v1) will automatically reference the latest published version of the Flow (Flow v2)
-
Can I identify the errors why I am unable to publish my flows?
-
Yes - clicking on “Save Draft” or “Publish” will validate the flow and highlight errors if any. If you are unable to publish your flows - please contact support.
-
Can I open existing available IVR’s in flow builder?
- No the flow built in flow builder are independent of the IVR’s available in the IVR section.
-
Can I select, copy or duplicate the IVR configured in one flow to another flow?
- No, you cannot reuse the IVR configured in one flow to another flow.
