AVOXI Genius lets you encrypt your SIP Trunk connection with TLS (and SRTP for the media itself). Here's exactly where that setting lives and what you need to know before turning it on.
Where to Find It
- Log in to AVOXI Genius at genius.avoxi.com.
- Select SIP Integrations from the left-hand navigation bar.
- Choose the SIP Trunks tab (for outbound) or the SIP URIs tab (for inbound forwarding).
- When you create or edit a trunk, look for the Transport or Protocol setting and select TLS.
- Use port 5061 for TLS signaling instead of the standard port 5060 for UDP/TCP.
Good to Know Before You Configure It
- TLS/SRTP is available on the AVOXI Genius platform
- Only available with Premium Cloud Service or higher. Contact your Account Manager for assistance.
- TLS and SRTP can each be used for inbound and outbound calls (both origination and termination).
- Most modern PBX systems handle the TLS certificate automatically, but if yours needs the certificate file manually, you can download it from the SIP URIs tab: click the three-dot menu next to the "+Add" button.
- By default AVOXI uses DTLS for media encryption, but SDES and plain RTP can be selected during setup if your system needs them instead.
