Number Testing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much does Number Testing Cost?

  • Number Testing is $1.99 per test, whether on-demand or scheduled test
    • Note: if you schedule 1 test call per day for a single number for ten days, the $1.99 charge will be incurred for each test daily, totaling $19.90 
  • Number Testing billing will be visible in the usage section of your AVOXI invoice 


Does Number Testing work for all numbers?

  • Not all numbers are currently available to be tested. If the number is unavailable for testing, a message on the Status column on the Numbers page will display ‘Unavailable.’


Will Number Testing Ring the number being tested?

  • Yes, the number being tested will ring. Once answered either by a person, IVR or voice mail the call will last for 10 seconds and play a recorded message stating 'This is a test call from AVOXI please hang up to end the call'. This is to provide Quality of Service information for the test call.

Do I need to call Support to open a case if a test fails?

  • You can always call our 24/7 Support team to open a case; however, with Number Testing, if a connectivity issue is detected a case will automatically be opened with our AVOXI Experts to begin troubleshooting right away. To learn more about retest and auto case creation click here


Can a number be made available for Number Testing?

  • Yes, you can request a number/country be added for Number Testing coverage. Please email support@avoxi.com to request a number for testing. Please include your account ID, number, and country of the number. We are working on adding all countries, but the request may take time.

  • Please note: It takes can a bit of time to add a country to the coverage.


Can I test the numbers that AVOXI did not provide?

  • At this time, only numbers purchased from AVOXI can be tested. 


Can I complete an on-demand test if the selected number is on a test schedule?

  • Absolutely. If you need to test a number on demand, you can do so at any time, even if that number is already part of a scheduled test. 


What is tested on a test call?

  • When a test is performed an in-country test call will be made to the number under test. Connectivity will be confirmed along with Quality of Service metrics and Post Dial Delay. 


Can the test measure Post Dial Delay PDD?

  • Yes, PDD is reporting on the Number Test Detail pop up. 


Who can perform Number Testing?

  • Genius Admins can perform scheduled or on demand number tests by default. 

  • Custom roles can be created to provide access to the Number Testing feature by editing an existing role or creating a new one. For more information on Custom Roles click here


How can I view previous test results?

  • Previous test results can be viewed on the Test Logs tab in the number profile or on the Number Testing tab on the Activity page. 


Does Number Testing work with Truelocal numbers?

  • Absolutely, Truelocal numbers are included in Number Testing as long as they are within the coverage.


Will Number Testing test my SIP URI (inbound SIP Trunk) configuration?

  • Not currently. However, you can test your SIP URI configuration on the SIP Trunks tab in Genius. For more information on SIP URI testing click here.
