IT Tip of the Week: Google Docs Offline – Your New Best Friend

Hey Team AVOXI,

Google Docs is fantastic for creating and sharing documents online, but did you know you can also edit them offline? Perfect for those moments when you're without internet but still need to get work done.

Here’s how to set it up:

  • Be online (yep, you need to be connected first).
  • Use Google Chrome (the best browser for this trick).
  • Go to drive.google.com.
  • Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner, then click Settings.
  • Check the box in the Offline section to enable offline access.

Once that's done, here’s how to make specific documents available offline:

  • Open Google Docs and locate the document you want to edit.
  • Click the three vertical dots next to the document.
  • Toggle the switch next to Available offline.

Bonus Tips:

  • Any changes you make offline will be automatically updated the next time you connect to the internet. So no worries about losing your work!
  • Some very large files might not work offline due to their size, so keep that in mind.

Stay productive and keep rocking,

The AVOXI IT Team
