Voicemail in AVOXI Core


Voicemail allows users to record or upload personal greetings and delivers voicemail messages directly to your inbox. When a voicemail is received, you receive an email instantly with the audio file attached and voicemail transcription every time you receive a voicemail. You can listen to your voicemail without calling your voicemail box or logging into your AVOXI account. With hosted voicemail, you can stay on top of messages and improve voicemail response times. 

Use the below step by step guides to set up your AVOXI Core voicemail now:

Activating Voicemail

You can easily turn your voicemail on a particular number on/off at any time via your AVOXI Core online portal.  

  • Simply select the AVOXI number for which you wish to set up your voicemail on the "My Numbers" homepage. 
  • Scroll down to the “Phone Line Feature Configuration” panel. 
  • There, you will find a switch toggle where you can turn off/on the voicemail feature click to turn the voicemail feature on.
  • Next, click the "accept the terms and conditions" box and then select the "Enable" button.
  • The Voicemail tab will now appear in the upper left-hand corner of your browser.

Set Up Your Voicemail

On the home page, "Click" on the AVOXI number for which you wish to set up your Voicemail.
  • Next, select the Voicemail tab located in the upper left-hand corner of your browser. If the Voicemail tab is missing, use our "How to adjust my voicemail settings" guide.
  • TIP: Voicemail is automatically activated on all numbers purchased through the AVOXI  shopping cart. 
  • Next, click on the "Settings" button located on the lower left-hand side of your browser
  • The popup window should display your "Voicemail Settings"
  • Enter any digit password. 
  • Next, select whether or not you want to system to:
    • Ask for your password
    • Announce Date and Time
    • Autoplay 
  • Then choose the type of prompt you would like to have "Standard, Extended or Rapid" 
  • Next, choose your greeting type
    • If you would like to add your own greeting select "Personal"
    • Click on the browse button to search for the audio file from your computer
    • Make sure your personal greeting is recorded as MP3
  • Under "Action" you are going to have four options 
    • Select "None" if you would like nothing to happen when someone leaves a voicemail
    • Select "Forward" if you want to forward your voicemails to your email as an MP3 attachment (NOTE: Voicemails will not be visible in your online Voicemail dashboard)
    • Select "Notify" if you want to get an email notification alerting you when you get new voicemails
    • Select "Copy" if you wish to receive an email copy of your new voicemail with visibility in your UI dashboard).
  • Finally set your email address where you would like to get your voicemails
    • If you wish to receive instant voicemail notifications in your email inbox, add the correct address to the "Email Address" field.
    • Lastly, click Save to confirm your settings

TIP:  Remember to check the "Answering Mode" of your number asset in your "Phone Line Profile".  This setting will automatically override any other settings.

NOTE: You can view your voicemail messages on the main voicemail screen.  Click any of the voicemails to download to your computer or local storage device.

Adjust Number Voicemail Settings if the tab is missing

Use the below easy to follow steps to adjust your voicemail settings on an existing number if your Voicemail tab is missing:

  • On the home page, "Click" on the AVOXI number for which you wish to set up your Voicemail.
  • Click on the phone line you want to manage and scroll down to the “Phone Line Feature Configuration” panel.
  • There, you will find a switch toggle where you can turn off/on the voicemail feature, click to turn the voicemail feature on.
  • Next, click the "accept the terms and conditions" box and then select the "Enable" button.
  • The Voicemail tab will now appear in the upper left-hand corner of your browser. You can now follow the steps listed above to set up your voicemail.

Deactivating Voicemail

You can easily turn your voicemail on a particular number on/off at any time via your AVOXI Core online portal.  

  • Simply select the AVOXI number for which you wish to set up your voicemail on the "My Numbers" homepage.
  • Scroll down to the “Phone Line Feature Configuration” panel. 
  • There, you will find a switch toggle where you can turn off/on the voicemail feature click to turn the voicemail feature off. 
  • Next, click the "Disable Feature" button on the popup window:
  • A popup window should not appear at the bottom of your screen "Feature was Updated Successfully" 
  • NOTE: Once you disable the voicemail feature on a particular number, the Voicemail tab will no longer appear in the upper left-hand corner of your browser.
